Akane travels to a vacation spot with Kanai to figure out what he really wants from their relationship. The simplicity of his feelings startles her, and she begins to understand just what it is other people find so appealing about love. Mugi similarly comes to understand his own feelings as he meets Akane for their first and final date.

Tohru plays the lottery at the Shopping District and comes away with a kotatsu that sees her family lazing under it through the final days of the year. Later, Kanna is invited by Saikawa to share in their first shrine visit and Tohru hosts everyone for a New Year’s party.

“Snow White of the Yasaka Festival”

Masamune and his classmates rehearse Snow White in preparation for their competition against Aki’s class, but the day of the Festival sees some sneaky tricks played by both sides. Both Masamune and Kanetsugu find themselves held captive with the showtime impending. A dance with Aki is on the line, but she doesn’t intend to let anyone best her.

As Mugi begins to understand his own insecurities, he becomes even more insistent toward Akane.

After being asked to host the annual Christmas show, Tohru and the others decide to put on the play ‘The Little Match Girl’. Feeling the story isn’t interesting enough to stand alone, the dragons take some creative liberties with the script. What results is an over-the-top story involving magical girls and demon lords.

After being blown off by Mugi, Hanabi accepts Ecchan’s invitation to visit her summer house. Expecting to be alone with her friend, Ecchan is annoyed when she finds Atsuya there too. Amid the relaxing atmosphere, she and Hanabi search their feelings and come to an ultimate decision.

It’s Kanna’s sports festival, but when Kobayashi is too busy at work to come Kanna becomes sad. Kobayashi wonders why Kanna insists, since she isn’t even her parent, but Tohru explains that Kanna views Kobayashi as a mother. As the day of the sports festival arrives, Kobayashi must decide what is more significant in her life — work or ‘family.’
