Tanya explains to von Rerugen why the battles will eventually start up again. As foretold, combat erupts once more, sending Tanya and her battalion to the Southern Continent to fight against the Republic. While Tanya reasons that war is proof of God’s failure, Mary Sioux prepares to join the army and avenge her father’s death.
“Resistance”
Tanya’s squadron faces off against a battalion of Allied Kingdom mages in the skies above the English Channel with Anson Sioux at the head. A fierce battle ensues that eventually sees the bogeys repelled after a number of close calls. As the Republic forces pull back and surrender Parisee, Tanya realizes something is amiss. Awaiting news on the status of operation Shock & Awe, the Empire’s leadership eagerly anticipates the commencement of their large scale encirclement. As Tanya’s squad takes out the Republic HQ, Empire forces break open their right flank and begin a sweep to surround the Republic army. “Trial by Fire”
After the city of Arene is overrun by a civilian militia, Tanya is ordered to drive out any Republic forces in the city, including the civilian rebels if needed. After demanding an evacuation and leading an assault to push the enemy mages back, Tanya authorizes the Empire artillery guns to shell the city and all its remaining inhabitants. “The Battle of the Fjord”
Tanya is sent on a mission to secure a troop landing area for the Empire in a northern fjord. Defending by gun emplacements and enemy mages alike, the mission requires skill and speed to carry out successfully, but one Allied mage is determined to hold off the Empire’s advances.
“Beginning of Madness”
After they successfully overtake the Dakian capital, Gen. Ruedeldorf transfers Tanya’s mage battalion to Norden to fight off the Entente forces at the border. Tanya relieves another mage company that has fallen under attack and pushes back her enemies, but her attempt to find survivors among the wreckage leads to another encounter with Being X.
“My First Battalion”
After a tough selection process, Tanya puts her recruits through the wringer to find out which ones are cut out to serve under her. Soon after, a mission to halt the advance of invading Dakian troops turns into a ‘live fire exercise’ that sees Tanya’s new battalion in action for the first time. “Campus Life”
Six months have lapsed since last week’s episode and Tanya is now enjoying a comfy life in a military college. Despite every move being carefully calculated for a career away from the front lines, she may have gotten too zealous about showing off her insight. After making a positive impression on General Zettour, Tayna is asked to write a proposal about a Mage Battalion unit. Little does she know her intellect will impress more than just the General.
“Deus Vult”
Tayna receives a promotion to first lieutenant and reassigned to the military capital after being the only person to successfully use Dr. von Schugel’s magical conduit invention. Her success lies in the power of prayer, so it seems. With Tanya depending on this power to survive the front lies, though doesn’t truly believe in it, what will Being X have in store for her next?
