Winter 2017 Wrap Up

Winter 2017 is over and so the Viewing party is ending as well. The remainder of our shows had their final episodes this past week, and we’re ready to share our final thoughts.

Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid – Episode 13

“Emperor of Demise Arrives! (It Was the Final Episode Before We Knew It)”

The cloudy day begins like any other but Tohru’s sense of doubt begins to plague her with regards to spending her life with Kobayashi. Before she realizes it, her father appears to take her back to their world and Kobayashi struggles with the idea of Tohru never coming back.

“Will-o’-the-Wisp”

A thieving ring that Omasa is familiar with is discovered to be behind a string of violent crimes in Edo. Having once shared a romance with the assumed successor of the group, Omasa refuses to believe her former lover is the one responsible

Saga of Tanya the Evil – episode 12

“How to Use a Victory”

Tanya explains to von Rerugen why the battles will eventually start up again. As foretold, combat erupts once more, sending Tanya and her battalion to the Southern Continent to fight against the Republic. While Tanya reasons that war is proof of God’s failure, Mary Sioux prepares to join the army and avenge her father’s death.

Winter 2017 Week 12

Our last weekly review before the final wrap up. With three shows ending this past week, there’s not much left to cover, but the Viewing Party will see it through to the end.

Scum’s Wish – Episode 12

“A Story of Two”

As the months press onward, Hanabi reflects on everything that’s happened. She is enlisted to help with the school festival, Kanai tells her of his plans to marry Akane, and the students give them a celebratory party. All the while there is a distance between her and Mugi.

Onihei – Episode 12

“The Audacious Fellow”

While making an arrest one night, Koyanagi returns to find his wife and newborn have both perished during childbirth. Despite his grief, he saves the wife and child of the man he arrested for murder when she tries to kill herself out of despair. Believing her story about her husband being a good man, Koyanagi takes a risk in freeing him to find the true killer.

Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid – Episode 12

“Tohru and Kobayashi’s Impactful Meeting (We’re Raising the Bar on Ourselves)”

While Tohru prepares a special omurice for dinner, Kobayashi daydreams about the day she first met Tohru. Later, Tohru tells Kobayashi about a human bandit she had met while in the dragon world, who influenced her to choose her own freedom and become a maid. 

ACCA: 13 Territory Inspection Dept. – Episode 12

“Where the Bird Flies”

The Five chiefs decide to begin the coup during the ACCA centennial celebration, hoping to use the occasion to arrest Prince Schwann. Though they want to force Schwann’s abdication shortly after arresting him, Jean requests a small change to the plan. Will he follow Lilium, or does he intend to carry out his own agenda? 

Saga of Tanya the Evil – episode 11

“Resistance”

Tanya’s squadron faces off against a battalion of Allied Kingdom mages in the skies above the English Channel with Anson Sioux at the head. A fierce battle ensues that eventually sees the bogeys repelled after a number of close calls. As the Republic forces pull back and surrender Parisee, Tanya realizes something is amiss.
