Winter 2017 is almost over and so too our Viewing Party is entering its final week. With many series finishing up, we’re excited to see how things will end. But while some shows are poised for a stirring finale, others seem destined for a mediocre finish.

Akane travels to a vacation spot with Kanai to figure out what he really wants from their relationship. The simplicity of his feelings startles her, and she begins to understand just what it is other people find so appealing about love. Mugi similarly comes to understand his own feelings as he meets Akane for their first and final date.

“The Man from the Past”

A man from Hisae’s past demands to see her, threatening to expose a shameful secret if she doesn’t comply. Hisae proves stronger than to allow herself to be bullied, but the man’s allies kidnap Ojun to prove how serious he is. With Heizo out of town, the rest of Arson/Theft Control springs into action to recover the young girl.

Tohru plays the lottery at the Shopping District and comes away with a kotatsu that sees her family lazing under it through the final days of the year. Later, Kanna is invited by Saikawa to share in their first shrine visit and Tohru hosts everyone for a New Year’s party.

Jean’s audit of Furawau leads to the discovery that they are leading the coup and want Jean to join their cause. Though he is reluctant at first, an attempt on his life seems to harden his resolve and he returns to Bādon among rumors of the impending takeover.

“The Path to Victory”

Awaiting news on the status of operation Shock & Awe, the Empire’s leadership eagerly anticipates the commencement of their large scale encirclement. As Tanya’s squad takes out the Republic HQ, Empire forces break open their right flank and begin a sweep to surround the Republic army. Elated from victory, Tanya’s squad deploys once more for what should be a mop up operation.

Both Masamune and Kanetsugu find themselves held captive with the showtime impending. A dance with Aki is on the line, but she doesn’t intend to let anyone best her.

As Mugi begins to understand his own insecurities, he becomes even more insistent toward Akane.
