YLIA Event details

I will be starting my Your Lie in April event this Saturday, but there a few things I wanted to mention for anyone who wants to participate. Read on for the full details and rules for entry.

Before we get started, I would like to mention how happy I am that some of you are excited for the event this year. I had a lot of fun covering each episode last year, and had so many interesting and memorable discussions. Hopefully we can have more of the same and enjoy this wonderful anime together.

For those of you who have not seen Your Lie in April, I am excited to share in your first experiences of it. It is an incredible story with memorable characters, beautiful animation, amazing music, and the ability to move all but the most stubborn hearts. I’m sure that watching this series will feel like its own reward! That said, I would like to offer something for the time you spend with me this month. For that reason I have a giveaway that you can enter each day for a chance to win a prize.

Prizes will be revealed halfway through April (look out for the post) and winners will be announced at the end of the month. The more participation this event receives, the better the prize(s). For those of you who are not familiar with last year’s event, prizes included manga, t-shirts, and YLIA themed items. This year, I want to do even more.

How to Enter

You can earn entries in two ways:

Comment on the daily post – Because my wish for this month is to get some lively discussion about Your Lie in April, the best way to get entries is to comment on each post I write this month. You are free to watch the show at your own pace, but the event period will go from April 7 to April 28 with one post each day. You will get credit for each post you comment on, up through April 30. (3 Entries)

Play “Two Truths and a Lie” – Has anyone played this game before? With each daily post I will include a multiple choice question containing two truths and one lie about the episode (see below for a sample). Getting the correct answer will be especially easy if you are watching along with me. (2 entries)

Try the Quiz

You can try the sample quiz below to get an idea of how it works. To participate, enter your name (or your blogger handle, or whatever you like to be called) so I can match you to your answer, then select which statement you think is a lie.

If you know the answer, please don’t give it away in any comments you write. This is a competition, after all.

If you’re stressing out about answering correctly, don’t worry. Just answering each day will get you 1 entry, whether you get it right or wrong. Remember, you still get the most points by commenting, so don’t be shy about letting me know your thoughts.

I think that covers everything, but feel free to ask if you have any questions. I hope everyone will like playing along and enjoy the event this year. Remember to check back on Saturday for the first post, and have a great time watching.

    1. Yes, make up for last year! Lol. You know I’m joking, and yo can watch at whatever pace you like, so don’t worry about it too much. I think I remember you saying something about preferring to binge a bunch of these at a time.

  1. I’m glad you are doing this again. Once again, I’m not going to watch along given April ends up crazy busy for me already, but I am looking forward to reading your posts and remembering all the great things about this anime.

    1. It’s always great to have you along either way. I hope you aren’t too stressed this month either way and manage to find some time to relax.

Let’s see if my posts can live up to what I did last year since I’m looking do so something different. It’s always hard to tell how much effort I’m looking at until I’m knee deep in it.

      1. It is amazing how simple a project might sound in your head but then you start trying to make it a reality and suddenly you realise how much work it is going to be to complete.

    1. Yes, you can go back and participate in any of the days you missed, all throughout the month. I won’t expire any of the quizzes until the end of April so you’ll have time.

I’m excited to have you along!
